With care for every passenger, "Sheremetyevo Parking" continues to develop inclusive infrastructure at the airport. Specialized Zones for vehicles of disabled individuals have been created and are successfully functioning in the multi-level parking lots of Terminals B and C. This is a unique project in Russian airport practice, which guarantees that the spaces designated for passengers with reduced mobility will be used strictly for their intended purpose.
Barrier-Free Space
The parking zones for disabled vehicles are located on the 3rd level of each parking lot – in close proximity to the elevator lobbies and pedestrian galleries leading to Terminals B and C. This location is not accidental: for passengers with limited mobility, it is critically important to minimize the distance from the vehicle to the security and check-in points.
The number of parking spaces in each Zone strictly meets legal requirements and constitutes at least 10% of the total capacity of the parking facility. All of them are equipped with special markings, an accessibility symbol, and an informational sign 8.17 "Disabled," which eliminates confusion and makes the Zones noticeable to drivers.
Two Main Conditions for Free Parking
To take advantage of the benefit, two conditions must be met simultaneously.
The first – the vehicle must be registered in the Federal Register of Disabled Persons, and the information in the Register must remain current throughout the entire period of the vehicle's stay in the parking space. The parking dispatcher will verify the vehicle's license plate against the data in the Register upon entering the specialized Zone.
The second condition – the availability of a free space directly in the disabled Zone. If all spaces are occupied, passengers with disabilities entering the parking will have to park their vehicle in the public area on general terms, with payment according to the current pricing list.
That is why "Sheremetyevo Parking" has ensured digital transparency of the service. The current number of free spaces in the disabled Zones is displayed in real-time on electronic boards before entering the parking lots, on the cards for Parking B and Parking C, as well as on interactive diagrams of available spaces.
Simple Action Algorithm: How to Exercise the Right to Free Parking
To take advantage of the benefit, several simple steps must be followed. This algorithm is designed to ensure convenience for both the passengers themselves and the operation of the parking system.
- Entry and Ticket Acquisition. As usual, obtain a parking ticket upon entering the parking lot.
- Status Check. Proceed to the 3rd level, to the entry barrier of the specialized Zone. To access, press the call button for the dispatcher (intercom), located at the counter, and provide the vehicle's license plate number.
- Verification. The dispatcher checks the presence of the vehicle in the Federal Register of Disabled Persons. This ensures that the spaces are not occupied by unauthorized drivers and that those who genuinely need support always have priority access. Please note: if there is no data on the vehicle in the Register, entry to the Zone will be denied, and parking will be provided on general terms.
- Entry to the Zone. After confirming the right to free parking, scan your parking ticket at the counter and proceed into the Zone. Keep your ticket until the end of the parking session.
- Exit. When leaving the Zone, head to the exit barriers on the 1st level of the parking lot. Important: you must exit the parking within 15 minutes of leaving the Zone; otherwise, the parking session is considered renewed and will be charged according to the current pricing list.
Rules for All: Safety and Order
Despite the special status of the Zones, their users, like all drivers in the airport area, must comply with the Rules for Using the Station Square and Paid Parking. This includes the prohibition of parking in driveways, in areas designated for technical equipment, as well as strict adherence to markings. The current version of the Rules can be found in the section "Legal Information".
Care Zone: From Words to Action
The project of specialized Zones in Parking B and C is not just a matter of legal compliance. It is a consistent effort by "Sheremetyevo Parking" to create a truly accessible environment. Like other company projects – the implementation of the intelligent "Co-parking" system, digitalization of benefits for large families – the new zones for vehicles of disabled individuals make the airport convenient from the very first moments of arrival.
"Sheremetyevo Parking" firmly adheres to the principle: accessibility is not an option, but a quality standard.
Detailed information about the location of the zones and the conditions for receiving the benefit is available on the "Sheremetyevo Parking" website in the "Benefits" section, as well as through the 24-hour Contact Center phone: +7 (495) 578-65-65.
