The parking zones for vehicles of people with disabilities are located on the 3rd level of each parking lot – in close proximity to the elevator lobbies and pedestrian galleries leading to Terminals B and C. This location is not accidental: it is critically important for passengers with limited mobility to minimize the distance from the vehicle to the screening and check-in point.
The number of parking spaces in each of the Zones strictly complies with legal requirements and constitutes at least 10% of the total capacity of the parking facility. All of them are equipped with special markings, an accessibility sign, and an informational plaque 8.17 "Disabled," which eliminates confusion and makes the Zones noticeable for drivers.
Two key conditions for free parking
To take advantage of the benefit, two conditions must be met simultaneously.
First – the vehicle must be registered in the Federal Register of Disabled Persons, and the information in the Register must remain current throughout the period the vehicle is parked in the designated space. The parking dispatcher will verify the vehicle's license plate number against the data in the Register upon entry into the specialized Zone.
The second condition – the availability of free space directly in the disabled parking Zone. If all spaces are occupied, passengers with disabilities entering the parking lot will have to park their vehicle in a general access area under the same conditions, with payment according to the current tariff.
That is why "Sheremetyevo Parking" has ensured digital transparency of the service. The number of available spaces in the disabled Zones is displayed in real-time on electronic boards before entering the parking lots, in the cards for Parking B and Parking C, as well as on interactive diagrams of available spaces.
Simple algorithm of actions: how to exercise the right to free parking
To take advantage of the benefit, you need to follow a few simple steps:
- Check for available spaces. Before entering the parking lot (according to the information on the board), make sure there is an available space in the disabled vehicle Zone. If all spaces are occupied, the benefit is not granted.
- Obtain a parking ticket. Upon entering the parking lot, take a ticket at the barrier.
- Check status. Proceed to the 3rd level of the parking lot, to the entrance barrier of the specialized Zone. To gain access, press the call button for the dispatcher (intercom), located at the stand, and provide the vehicle's license plate number.
- Verification. The dispatcher checks the presence of the vehicle in the Federal Register of Disabled Persons. This ensures that spaces are not occupied by unauthorized drivers and that those who truly need support always have priority access. Note: if there is no information about the vehicle in the Register, entry to the Zone will be denied, and parking will be provided on general terms.
- Entry into the Zone. After confirming the right to free parking, scan your parking ticket at the stand and proceed into the Zone. Keep the ticket until the end of the parking session.
- Exit. When leaving the Zone, head to the exit barriers on the 1st level of the parking lot. Important: you must exit the parking lot within 15 minutes of leaving the Zone; otherwise, the parking session is considered renewed and is charged according to the current tariff.
Rules for all: safety and order
Despite the special status of the Zones, their users, like all drivers in the airport area, must comply with the Rules for using the Passenger Terminal areas and Paid Parking. This includes the prohibition of parking vehicles in driveways, in areas designated for technical equipment, as well as strict adherence to markings.
